The Nantucket Learning Group is Nantucket’s premier educational services provider. We serve the Island community during summer months with academic programs ranging from Pre-K instruction to SAT prep. We are a small team of highly motivated educators who take great pride in helping students develop an educational foundation upon which they can build in the fall.
Position:
We are currently seeking to add a talented, energetic Upper School Mathematics Instructor to our team. This will be a summer position late June or early July and concluding at the end of August.
• The Math Instructor will provide students with one-on-one support in subjects ranging from pre-algebra to calculus. Standardized test preparation will also be a key focus.
• Our teachers have a large degree of flexibility and independence in developing lessons. We take great pride in assembling a passionate team of educators who can provide a valuable service to the island communities each summer.
• Above all, we are looking for energetic and outgoing teachers who are eager to work with students in a one-on-one capacity.
Requirements:
• At least one year of full-time teaching experience (Math or Physics)
• Masters degree in education or related field (preferred but not required).
• Ability to tutor all levels of high school math including Algebra I/II, geometry, and pre-calculus (calculus and AP calculus preferred).
• General knowledge of the SAT Reasoning Test with previous SAT tutoring experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to remain on Nantucket until late August.
Compensation is highly competitive.
