Nantucket Bank is looking for a Teller to join our Retail Team!
Under the close supervision of the Head Teller, performs a wide variety of teller and general clerical duties to provide services to Bank’s customers in conformance with Bank policy and general procedures. This incumbent will actively participate in the Bank’s efforts to provide the highest possible level of quality customer service.
1. Provides a high level of quality customer service to customers; greets customers and ensures timely, accurate and courteous service, seeks clarification of product and service features to ensure knowledgeable presentation. Monitors customer satisfaction and provides follow up to ensure continued patronage.
2. Sets up counter for day’s activities. Inventories and draws cash as may be required from Head Teller or Assistant Branch Manager verifies and bands cash upon receipt. Prepares counter, obtains checks and other supplies as may be necessary.
3. Services customers in savings transactions. Verifies deposit or signature; records savings transactions in passbook through on line computer terminal. Processes all transaction slips daily.
4. Assists in processing of closed accounts; removes index and signature cards from file, checks with computer list and files in closed account file.
5. May sell and assist in processing registered, certified checks and traveler’s checks. Receives and records payments, fees, etc. in appropriate records. Assists in processing US Savings Bonds as required.
6. Takes and processes mortgage payments; records payments through on line computer terminal and stamps both customer copy and Bank copy. May take payments for personal loans, real estate taxes, life insurance, etc., as necessary
Preferred Experience: 1-2 years of Similar or related experience, 1-2 years of Cash Handling experience
