We are an established company on Nantucket Island seeking a Web Designer/Developer.This can be part-time or full time, depending on skill set, BUT IT IS an ON-SITE position; if you do not live on Nantucket, please do not apply unless you have a compelling proposal.
Our ideal candidate will have equal capabilities in website design (graphic abilities) and website development (coding) and have a solid knowledge of and experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/JQuery, Photoshop, Dreamweaver CC, PHP, MySQL. You should be able to demonstrate skill and experience with WordPress. You must be able to work independently, be able to handle multiple projects, reliably meet deadlines, and produce fully functional web projects. Design and layout skills are necessary.
IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL:
- Work collaboratively with clients to build and maintain websites and email marketing.
- Be responsible for designing, coding, maintaining, expanding, and scaling websites, from layout to function, ensuring they are responsive, user-friendly, interactive, and in compliance. This includes website landing pages, tools, and digital assets.
- Use development best practices to write well designed, testable, efficient code.
- Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities.
- Monitor content performance and results to take strategic decisions on the necessary updates (text, graphics, links) to reach company goals.
- Evaluate and identify areas of improvement and new technologies to use.
