Nantucket Island Resorts is currently accepting applications for the position of IT Systems Administrator. The position’s primary functions are the management and support for all Audio/Visual equipment at all company hotels and office locations. This includes projection and presentation systems in meeting rooms and halls, Sonos sound systems at each lobby and restaurant, and Logitech Harmony Smart Control for TVs in each hotel room. Also this position involves the preventative maintenance of all I.T. related equipment; effectively identifying problems as they occur and taking the appropriate steps to solve them. The position requires assisting and supporting our team members with any IT related issues by providing technical support on I.T. hardware and applications for our five hotels and marina.
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related position; hold a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or similar field of study; be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; be a clear thinker and resolve any problems using good judgment. In addition, candidates must be able to follow directions thoroughly, understand guest service needs, work cohesively with employees and management as part of a team, and work with minimal supervision. Hospitality experience is preferred.
Job Requirements include the following:
– Minimum 2 years if experience as AV Administrator and 3 years of experience as IT Administrator
– Strong knowledge and experience of setting up and supporting group meetings — projectors, dropdown screens, Polycoms, Sonos sounds systems, etc.
– Strong knowledge and experience with guest room media setups — TVs, remotes, Blu-ray players, etc.
– Hands-on Telecom experience (patch panels, phone systems, cables and wiring, PBX, etc.)
– Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server Products, Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange
– Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP and other Internet protocols
– Good knowledge of VMware and vSphere, Veeam backup software, SAN and NAS
– Good knowledge of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, etc.) and design of wired/wireless networks
– Thorough understanding of PC hardware and peripherals; Ability to diagnose and fix a wide range of computer hardware and software problems
– Remote and on-site technical support experience
– Must be able to work weekends and holidays if necessary
Optional but beneficial Knowledge:
Harmony smart hub remote control, Micros P.O.S.; Maestro PMS; Terminal servers; Cisco Switches, routers and firewalls; Avaya PBX; Symantec Mail security appliance; Web Filtering, Nagios (or other) server/application monitoring system, Solarwinds(or other) patch management software.
