Nantucket Lighthouse School is seeking a full-time Small School (Preschool) teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. We are a dynamic, progressive school offering a unique, integrated curriculum that incorporates art, experiential and hands-on learning, in-depth inquiry, and weekly field trips. We are looking for a collaborative, highly motivated and detail-orientated educator to join our dedicated, experienced teaching faculty.
The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal and communication skills, experience working with a range of abilities, interest in innovative curriculum design and a solid understanding of early childhood education and development. S/he must have strong writing skills, a demonstrated interest in professional growth and development and experience with early literacy development.
In addition to classroom instruction and curriculum development, Lighthouse teachers are responsible for newsletter and report writing, timely correspondence with faculty, staff and families, weekly faculty and/or division meetings, Open House events, as well as planning, organizing and communicating student progress.
