Nantucket Store Director – Summer House Included!

We’re seeking an entrepreneurial, beauty-obsessed Store Director to join the Follain family for our fifth summer season on Nantucket. Must have experience in retail leadership and development, community building, inventory management, and financial planning. (Bonus points for an interest in clean beauty!)

Responsibilities include:

– Leadership –
Deliver continuous performance feedback and necessary training to store team to assist them in meeting their requirements
Create a positive team environment by empowering the team to participate in store initiatives
Drive employee engagement through consistent recognition
Provide category insight related to the customer experience and communicate information to the corporate office

– Training + Education –
Responsible for a solid understanding of clean beauty industry as well as conventional industry standards and competition
Able to train team extensively on product knowledge including customer service technique and brand culture
Will be able to implement training modules and in-store meetings to the team regularly to ensure the highest level of product education

– Customer Experience –
Ensure customer service levels are met and exceeded beyond expectations at every opportunity
Ensure that customer and employee experience are prioritized over workload or tasking
Monitor sales floor coverage to drive sales and maintain customer focus
Build repeat business by ensuring all strategies around data capture, outreach, and follow up are consistently executed

– People + Development –
Contribute to long term growth by minimizing turnover, recruiting high level candidates as needed, and maintaining and developing a store team of managers and store educators that are able to meet sales goals
Ensure the team clearly understands and meets job expectations
Coach and mentor staff to achieve optimal results including succession planning for current and future positions
Lead new hire on-boarding and training
Motivate and coach store team to achieve personal and store sales goals

– Inventory Management –
To contribute to Follain’s growth through inventory management and the achievement of appropriate gross margin and return on investments
Maximize on hand inventory by focusing on selling what we own today and actively communicating inventory needs
Train the store team in inventory management and supervise physical inventory count
Train, coach, and audit store team regularly to ensure timelines and expectations are
being met around promotional set up, merchandising direction, tester/damage
processing, and overall operational standards

– Financial –
Lead the stores’ business planning process
Achieve or exceed financial plans through effective planning and management
Ensure control of all store expenses including payroll, supplies, and other controllable expenses
