Seasonal Retail Store Manager Needed on Nantucket

The Skinny Dip: A Summer Collective, located at 23 Old South Wharf, Nantucket, will opens it’s doors for the first time in May, 2016. The store will house a well-curated mix of men’s and women’s brands that have strong ties to New England while giving a nod to surf culture and embracing a passion for travel. The Skinny Dip will feature a mix of some of Nantucket’s favorite brands, but focus on introducing the island to fresh and emerging designers from around the country. An ongoing events calendar will make The Skinny Dip not just an inspiring place to shop but also a destination to connect.

The Skinny Dip: A Summer Collective is looking to hire an enthusiastic store manager to join our team! Applicants must be available from approximately Mid-May through Labor Day, and then additionally Thursday – Monday from Labor Day through Columbus Day. We are looking for an individual with prior store managerial experience, who displays a passion for the retail industry, keen attention to detail and excellent leadership qualities. Nantucket retail experience is a plus. Please see below for a more detailed outline of responsibilities.

In addition to a competitive base hourly wage, store managers will be incentivized by earning a generous % on all gross sales.

Retail Store Manager Job Duties Include:
• Responsible for maintaining store operational hours; opening and closing the store
• Maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
• Coordinate assigning and scheduling employees
• Maintains store staff job results by coaching and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures of The Skinny Dip
• Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels on a daily basis; reporting any missing inventory immediately
• Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment; generally responsible for keeping space clean and customer friendly
• Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
• Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.
• Supports on the planning and execution of store events and marketing initiative
