The Montessori Children’s House of Nantucket is seeking a kind and loving classroom assistant for the 2016-2017 school year.
Responsibilities include:
•Cultivate a nurturing, respectful, inspiring, and safe learning environment.
•Provide support to students and staff.
•Collaborate with co-teaching team in regard to lesson plans, record keeping and classroom management.
•Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of classrooms.
Qualifications:
•Experience working with children age 2 years 9 months to 6.
•BA preferred
•Undergraduate coursework in Child Development.
•EEC Preschool Teacher qualification preferred, or willingness to take necessary steps to gain qualification.
•Montessori experience preferred, or willingness to attend weekend training program.
This is a 9-month (September- June), part-time position. The hours are 8am-1pm M-F with the possibility of additional hours for substituting.
